Canon all the way!

I have a Canon. I don't like how you have to use the pointer finger to change settings on a Nikon. Although I do like the speed of the Nikon at times.

I honestly can't say I can actually whole-heartedly pick one over the other...my primary rig right now is a Nikon but my next DSLR is gonna be a Cannon. I think it just boils down to preference in features and form.

I agree with you Curtiss. It depends on the person. I like my Canon.

I personally on DSLR shoot Nikon, a lot of glass on a particular brand is a powerful argument to keep the body :)
So far in the high end scenario 24.5 Mpix is a very strong argument as well.

I agree!  The lens quality is a major selling point for me.  Although it depends on what you've grown up with over time.  Wish I grew up with a hasselblad lol!

So I pulled out my old Canon AE-1 as the third rig for a wedding this weekend and ya know what? I really miss shooting good old fashion film in an SLR! lol...having to plan out each shot in a more detailed way, having to put more time and patience into each shot...we are so spoiled by our DSLRs! Even with so many manual settings and options we're still pampered by having the ability to see an image instantly and to reshoot it over and over again if it isn't just right. Old school rigs gave no such ease...it was either know how to use it and how it's most likely to respond in a given circumstance and merge that knowledge into shoot - advance - and pray the frame came out like it should have based on your skill! Shooting isn't my day job and I am far from some super skilled guy from the "olden days", but there is truly something magical about knowing the craft from that perspective!

True Curtiss! Photography as an art has changed a lot! I feel like at times finding an old Tilt and Shift camera and shooting large prints from it. How cool would that be!
